CASE STUDY ONE – The Infants’ School
Our first major project was to replace the dilapidated building that served as the kindergarten and infants’ school. The charity raised £8,000 to provide a brand new building with separate classrooms and a dining hall.
CASE STUDY TWO – The Computer School
Our second major project was the construction of a computer school for the children and young people of Nankesido.
Prior to the new building of the school, this was how students were taught ICT; there was one laptop (previously donated by us) for the whole school:
Our children can now learn ICT in a brand new computer school and in a 21st Century environment:
CASE STUDY THREE – Building Rescue
We don’t just build new schools. We have undertaken several renovations and major repairs to existing school buildings. The photo below shows storm damage in July 2022 that was fully repaired by NEWT at a cost of £9,000.
We got to work right away.
This is what it looked like in September when the children went back to school after the vacation:
CASE STUDY FOUR – Boreholes providing fresh water
Lockdown didn’t mean shutdown.
During the COVID lockdown, we were unable to undertake any major projects, so we sank six boreholes to provide free water to several communities, including a home for disabled people which has its own farm.

CASE STUDY FIVE – Sponsoring of students
We have helped numerous young people through secondary school, vocational school, apprenticeships, college, and university by paying, or assisting with, fees, accommodation, and educational materials. To date this has included:
· 39 students have been sponsored through Senior High School
· 13 students have been sponsored through Teacher Training College
· 6 students have been sponsored through Nursing School
· 6 students have been sponsored through University
· 17 students have been supported with Bursaries for Apprenticeships

CASE STUDY SIX – Other help for students
In addition to paying education fees, we have distributed large quantities of school clothes, sports kit and boots that we have been given:
CASE STUDY SEVEN – Reaching the vulnerable
We have helped countless poor individuals and families with one-off grants or longer term support to help with buying school books, uniforms and clothes, paying medical bills and hospital fees, or paying for house repairs, and with other day-to-day needs. And we have donated dozens of sewing machines, walking frames, wheel chairs, items of bed linen, tools, and much else besides to needy people or to young people setting up after apprenticeships as well as to the local hospital.
